The lightning talk proposes a model for library consultation with aspiring journal proponents.

The model evolves from cases that emerge at our small, teaching-focused university with respect to local journal publishing. The library's capacity to advise journal proponents develops as we seek to understand and respond to each request for advice or assistance that comes to the library. By synthesizing key learning from each case into an evolving model for consultation, we are able to more effectively clarify expectations and capacity, raise awareness of unforeseen considerations, render assistance, and/or make referral as appropriate.
