Abstract

This paper aims to conceptualize and propose the Researcher Web Portal (ReWPo). It is an integrated web-based system to manage the complete lifecycle of scientific research with information about the scientific work made by researchers available on a single website, based on Big Data technique and technology. The system aggregates information about research projects, groups, and related scientific production with hypertext links to multimedia files published on the internet regarding these research projects. The system main feature is to be web designed responsive. It should provide an optimal viewing experience to various content reading interfaces, so information can be easily accessed on tablets, smartphones, and other handheld web devices. The central contribution of the proposed system is the compilation in one custom website of open access files, data and all external connections to multimedia files and data about the researchers and their research projects. The system will be integrated with already existing systems and scientific social networks. It includes the possibility of sharing primary research data and the research results dissemination. The system provides the researcher personal website and becomes a unique place to monitor the full life cycle of research projects, since it contains relevant information about research outputs and external links to social networks, publishing articles, and other research database systems. This paper aims to conceptualize and propose the Researcher Web Portal (ReWPo).
